The Moon
Come out! Come Out! You blissful moon
You that occupies the night as your slave
And disturbingly disappear at the peak of the sun
Stop your chasing game and hear me plead!
Why is it that you send a merciful shine upon my window
Every night at half passed midnight?
My window, which is mysteriously unworthy of your shine!
Tell me old friend,
Why is it that the wolves of the forest bow down upon your glow?
And howl as if you would reply to them?
Oh moon you blissful moon
How can the stars up in the shy fall in the shadow of your gratefulness?
Moon you magnificent moon
Return tomorrow so my deaf ears can hear the sweet melody of the nightingales
Return tomorrow so my blind eyes could chance a glance
Of the glimmering stars up by your side
And maybe if I am lucky
I could see you as well
Thee, who is the center of the dark and the protector of the night
