Moonlight meanderings

Blushing clouds pastel-hued

Wispy white-winged seraphs sing a hushed lullaby

                        Sun settling in for sleep

Watching the weary world

Helios awakens another realm

Chariot of fire wanes in the distant horizon

Heliotrope hills glimmer an enthralling, misty azure

Radiant moon rises, gleams

Charlemagne’s sign

Behind the river of starlight

Light from a woodland fairy’s gossamer gown

Summoned, fireflies dance blithely in the veiled meadow

Lethargic man on the moon

Emulates his twin in a reflecting pool of moonshine

Wrought iron portal wavering, creaking

Cool moon-lit breeze whispers a woodland serenade

Ivy twining around maroon brick

            Meandering in the mysterious moonlight
