More Than Me
See this is what I want to be
In all honesty, I want to be more than just me
I want to be a raging revolutionary
Somewhere in the 60's
Or the pessimistic optimist
The one that sees the worst bad in every good thing
I want to be the girl that runs a nation
Or the terrorist that sets people free
Because in all reality, I wanna be more than just me
I want to be the girl who has the best of both worlds
Or the boy that likes girls and other guys
The bad example of a snob
But the best example of a bitch
I wanna see the world through the waters of the sea
Because in all reality, I wanna be more than just me
I want to be more than a poet but a lyricist
Because I wanna be the optimistic pessimist
And I wanna see the the good in everything bad
And the sun in the storm
Yet the flaw in the rainbow
That doesn't shine everyday
I want to be the musical note that lasts for day
Because in all reality, I wanna be more than just me
I want to be a ravishing beauty from the 50's
That sits around
Crown in hand
And tell ancient stories about the slave land
I want to be the female king
Or the best male queen
I want to rule the world
And diminish poverty
But these are all things I'd do
In spite of just being me
I want to be the sweetheart with an attitude
Or the devil with a halo
That often hangs low
Because of the constant uproar of the people with their heads hanging low
I want to cause a riot or a strike that strikes not a nation but the globe
And sends it tilting and shaking
And left blind to the naked eye
And all just to see
That in all reality, I wanna be more than just me
I want to be the slave that owns a plantation
Or the prisoner with the prison's key
I want to be the dancer with no rhythm
Or the song with no melody
I want to be the exact opposite of everything
And be marked anonymous
In a world where classification is key
I want to be the orchestra with no symphony
Or the piano with no keys
The writer without a pen
Or the radio with no tune to sing
I want to be all that and more
Because in all reality, I wanna be more than just me
