Moved On

Location

Letter after letter,

Word after word

Left on the ink stained page.

All the lines are blurred.

My mind struggles to find

The right words to say,

But what can be said

After you give your heart away?

Memories are all I have left.

Staying up until 4 in the morning

Will never be the same, but

Maybe that should’ve been a warning.

Too many words left unspoken.

I can’t believe you’re gone,

But my heart still feels broken.

I guess it’s time to move on.

How do I move on?

Where do I go from here?

You promised to never leave

But you’ve seemed to disappear.

We made promises and plans.

We couldn’t wait to grow old

T    o    g    e    t    h    e    r    .

But life happens out of our control.

Words are said that

Shouldn’t have been spoken,

Too many grudges were held,

And my heart was broken.

We held onto our grudges

And our pride too tight

Instead of each other

And now I’m nowhere near “all right”.

Maybe today day I’ll wake up

And my first thought won’t be of you.

Maybe today day I’ll wake up

And choose to move on too.
