My Best Friend

I don't remember much about the the day we brought you home,But ever since that day, I've never been alone. You're wet nose and tongue, and happy wagging tail,Could always cheer me up,Make me smile without fail.On those crazy late nights when the house was fast asleep,You stayed right by my side as I struggled through my homework heap. After bad days at school, when I was stressed or down,You let me cry into your into your fur until until I'd washed away my frown. You never judged me, I never had to be anyone for you,All I had to do was love you and let you love me too.Thank you for who you were, for evey lick and walk and hike,For always having my back since I was a little tyke.Unfortunately your time with me has now come to an end,But I just want you to know you'll always be my best friend.
