My Deepest Confession

Location

Many times I wonder what kind of lessons teachers are willing to listen to.  I would say that the best teacher is one who takes their time out for the kid who is abused or who is being bullied or whom may need special attention.  After all, it could be the only glimpse of hope and encouragement they might need to actually attempt their assignments for the day.  When I think of teachers I think of the ones I am gracious to for changing my life.  Teaching is an act of love and duty and without some of our mentors we would have a lost world.  However, the things I would teach my teacher would be to have compassion for others and try to understand their pupils in which they are teaching.   Being self informed about working with students would also help them.   Also, in a student-teacher relationship there are several tasks that they could do. If it is an English teacher they could work in response to helping one another become better at their own daily tasks by asking about input from those that they are taking the time to teach.  I think all of us have had that “one teacher,” who we just want to tell that we dislike or feel hate towards because things went wrong.  I particularly had a run-in with one of my teachers who was trying to quit smoking and the stress made it seem like he wanted to strangle one of us.  Nonetheless, our class didn’t necessarily do anything wrong, this teacher was just having a bad day.  Since a student is not greater than his teacher I would like to tell my teacher that pride can make or kill them when it comes to teaching a classroom.  Pride stumbles most unless it is one of conviction for enjoying one’s subject of study.  Also, I’d love to say that teachers shouldn’t contradict one another even though that one is impractical. There are several varieties of teachers out there with different personalities.  I think I’d like to say that when they are so different and not uniform it is harder to meet all their expectations.  That being, I always enjoyed a passionate teacher who loved the subject that they were teaching about.  A great instructor gets in there and is hands-on and also learns from his or her student.  The best gift I think a teacher can give is granting someone life by the education they might teach their pupil from early on.  I wrote this poem to my poetry teacher when I was angry at him and to this day I enjoy reading it and getting a laugh because it shows how I was trying to roll with the punches.  This poem was one that I was supposed to read out loud for extra credit which I did even though the teacher never showed up and because he didn’t I never got the extra credit.  This teacher actually tried to come on to me.  So here it is, my purest sarcasm:Dedicated Sarcasm to John Thrower My Poetry Teacher

The Horsefly landed on my head

And I saw a snowy owl

He was so beautiful

Then a hornets nest fell from the tree

And the hornets stung me!

I like to eat potato chips

In bed late at night

And last time I had a girlfriend over

My Dad got mad because we woke him up

And my solution was

Eating a steak-seasoned pork steak

At 5:00 in the morning

Then I played Need For Speed

Because I was mad at the world

And I hit the cars about 25 times

Wrecked about 40 at a 90

And felt better after singing Fighter.
