My Higher Self

An angel came to me today,

And asked me to not be afraid.

I was going through some hard times,

I was going through life blind.

The beauty I saw in her eyes was breathtaking,

Her energy was revitalizing.

Never before had I felt so alive!

Never before had I felt this revitalized.

She asked me to look within myself,

To not be afraid of who I thought I was.

She had a mirror with which I see,

and look into and see the true me.

The mirror was beautiful and a shimmering violet.

It's surface was that of water,

Deep and silent.

I took a deep breath but was afraid,

The angel encouraged me to look,

So I stepped forward

And willed myself to see.

I slowly lifted the mirror to my eyes,

Suddenly I was paralyzed!

In the mirror I was happy and beautiful.

No emotional scars haunted my eyes,

In this mirror I was perfect,

As perfect as the blue skies...

The woman in the mirror couldn’t be me!

She was laughing and her eyes were like stars,

Dancing and lovely!

I was attracted to her immediately.

Then angel said to me...

"You have been living asleep my child. And have forgotten

that the sacred place within you. You are perfect as you are

and you are loved as you are. No one can hurt the true you,

because you are divine and immortal. You are as you should

be. Stop tearing yourself down. You are divine."

The angel smiled at me,

I smiled back.

And suddenly she was gone!

I was afraid for a moment...

And fought back panic.

Suddenly, I felt love grow from within myself.

A love--pure and strong.

Curious, I looked inside my soul,

And I was surprised to discover that the beautiful angel I saw

Was not only a blessing in disguise...

She was a facet of me--My Higher Self--
