My mom always told me that college isn't cheap.

Location

My mom always told me that college isn't cheap.

However if you want to be successful, it's a must.

For those who don't go, will be a bust in rust.

My mom always told me that college isn't cheap.

But how would she know, she had me and my two sisters on the street.

She never went to college and it's a sad truth.

And now me being the oldest, I sit alone in this booth.

My mom always told me that college isn't cheap.

But I'm forced to go empty handed with no money,

When she makes 21,000 a year, single and desperate for a honey,

She tells me don't follow her footsteps,

Or I'll end up in MEPS.

My mom always told me that college isn't cheap.

But me being dedicated, ambitious, and successful my whole highschool career,

I know what it takes to make it my dear.

Playing varsity sports, ranked top 25 in my senior class,

Dealing with my mom smoking grass,

I am commited to achieving my dreams.

And the only thing stopping me,

Is the green I don't have that make millionaires be.

My mom always told me that college isn't cheap,

But with no money, I will overcome the leap.
