Need

To take your life would be easy,

Believe me I thought it,

But I remember you need me.

Need that goof to trip over air,

To make a silly face,

Or wear the crazy hair.

Need that human to make a mistake,

To tell you the truth,

Or cook you a steak.

I'd do it all and more,

To make you smile,

And walk through that door.

That door whose knob cuts like a knife,

Yet massages you daily,

That door called life.

To take your life would seem easy,

We both thought it,

But remember you'd leave me.
