Needed
a strange moment
things altered
and I drowned
unable to merge feelings
seeking to be the rock
for one I never claimed
offering myself
beneath glazed eyes
as proof of words
I'd never uttered before
or meant more
a shifting center
the first time
I felt needed
bought for my uselessness
