Not In My World

I see it, you see it.

It is there, big as day.

Don't tell me you avoid it, or you can't stand it.

We all support it by not stopping it.

The kids, they do it.

Adults, they refuse to believe it.

No, it could never happen......

Not in my world.

It stands in place of love.

We've all felt it, ignored it,

But it will always be there.

There's no explanation for its existence.

Mysterious as it came, it never leaves.

We turn away from its destruction,

We ignore its intrusion, refuse its abundance.

No..... Not in my world.

In a place where we stand still, I'll move.

Where we stay silent, I'll shout.

You can all close your eyes, but I'll see everything.

I'll see this world without love;

I see the bullying, the fighting, and the hurt.

We all stand by and hope it will pass without a sound.

But I will be the one to love those not loved, to spread kindness to strangers.

I'll give hope to the hopeless because pain does not have to exist.

No; not in my world.
