One day
Can it really ruin months of happiness?
One day
Can it really change you so much?
One day
Can it really kill you?
One day
Could it really be
Loved? Hated? Changed? Debated?
Can a day really be orchestrated?

Or is it all a game of chance,
a time for fate to join the dance
That we, as men, have made ourselves
since Adam’s teeth in fruit did delve
Harkening to the lips of Eve
Whose heart the serpent did deceive.
Truly, a dance that makes us pay.
Has fate now joined our yesterdays
With today, tomorrow, and the day after that
And the pain and the sorrow that make life grow flat?

Or have we choice, and will to choose
What we win and what we lose?
Have we the power to order the sun
To rise, then set when day is done?
Only those who are divine
Can, with fate, their will combine.
As mortals - frightened, frail, and weak
Can we rightfully claim the power we seek?
No – For one day coming soon
One day when the earth is new
Will we bow our knees before the throne
Of God on high in our heavenly home –

Before the One who ordered our days
before we were even born –

Every
Single
One
