One Race - The Human Race

Why can't you accept us for who we are?

Why can't you see that race isn't the difference of melanin within,

But rather the single factor that makes us all kin?

It's time we learned to unlearn the things that adulterate our heart

It's time we stop the "complace -

And see" that we are of the same race - the human race.

Bigotry and supremacy - poisonous ideologies...

OH how glad I am that some of us see the need to make a difference in our society.

Enough is enough,

Mankind has struggled too much

To only end up going back in time

Through one's effort to climb

Upon one another's face

So that we can say "we," not "they," finished first place.

The least I can say or do,

Is hope this message touches you.

We are all in this race together,

And only as one race,

Will we, make it better.
