Opa- "Grandpa"

I remember your bare feet in the sand.

I remember your wonderful laugh.

Crossword puzzles on the table, army medals.

I love you to the moon and back.

I remember your blue eyes looking into hers,

like you had this beautiful love.

I remember you dancing at the fests,

And you always cheering everyone up.

I can still feel you hold my hand,

my favorite man.

An even from that moment I knew,

I wanted to be just like you.

You will always be my best sixteen years.

I remember how much you loved her,

and how much she loved you too.

Who else could have lasted a whole sixty years?

And it’s about to be Halloween now.

Your house would always be decorated.

I remember the last day, when I kissed your face

I wish that I had told you,

that you will always be my best sixteen years.

What if I’m standing here trying to talk to you.

What if I always wear your pajamas when I feel scared.

And what if I really thought some miracle would see us through, and what if the miracle was even getting one more day with you.

You will always be my best sixteen years.

I remember your bare feet in the sand.

I love you to the moon and back!
