Opportunities

Isaiah 40:23

23 He brings the princes to nothing;
He makes the judges of the earth useless.

Maybe in the span of time, I’ll be blockhead # 1

Everyone else deserves a much better lot

I always knew the better but choose to leave undone

opportunities presented in times I now forgot

I built castles with excuses rising far above the ground

With a drawbridge called: “confusion” that I manned with lost ideas

Over motes of un-kept promises, I still hear the crying sound

of the ones I disappointed as I paid off with sins in deed

Now I own the highest tower and no one wants to buy it

It is my pride and joy but an eyesore to the true

Even a simple flower surely will survive it

As it seeds reach into the future while I die without a clue
