Parents
I was lost without guidance
Wandering down an endless road
Hopeless and confused
Straying farther and farther from the path
I heard your voices
In the thick, dark woods
But chose to ignore
Over and over again you called out
As I went farther and deeper in
Then I fell
Trapped in thorns and vines
Held by my own mistakes
And you reached out
Cut the entanglements
Lifted me up
And welcomed me back
I wouldn’t be here without you
I’d be consumed and alone in the darkness
You gave me hope
Strength
Love
Family
You led me into the light
