Patience

I long to whisper right to your heart,

That just gazing into those eyes tears me apart,

They play a melody of calm surrender,

For my heart they are the defender.

And from the moment I heard that soothing voice,

I knew God placed me there by choice,

For just having you there by my side,

Makes every moment in the hour coincide.

So let our kiss offset the pace of time,

And let love be the word to define,

The warm emotions maturing in my mind.

But patience is a virtue one of a kind,

Because a match made in heaven deserves fulfilling,

So I wait for the day when our paths align.

Until then I’ll cherish every moment we share,

This with all my heart I swear.
