Permanent Words

This crazy , catastrophic heart of mine
Can only be mended with words in a line.
The turmoil that's always going on in my brain?
Words are the only thing that keep me sane.
The feeling that broken glass is always in my heart?
Poetry's the only thing that keeps me from tearing apart.
The aching, the longing, my poor lonely soul?
Writing's the only thing that makes me feel whole.
The feeling I get when I know I'm alone?
Poetry is the only thing that puts me in my zone.
Through the desire and the pain, the strife and the sadness
Poetry's the only thing that helps me stop this madness.
In other words, I write poetry just so I can be
I write poetry, simply to be free.
