Pinky Promise

To seal the deal
Our little fingers lock
Tangling like the boondocks
The promise now annealed

Couldn't back out of it
We had to hold up to our word
Lest one face the wrath that incurred
If either didn't submit

Ah, but why?
Shouldn't the words themselves be enough?
This foolish tradition ought to be snuffed
But we'll hold it until we die

This poem is about:
Me
My family
