Poetry is in Me
Poetry, verse
Flows out of me
Like a stream gently bubbles from the ground
Providing cool water all around
Poetry comes from inside me
From where, I don't know
But I do know where it goes
It pours out
Words on a page
The perfect turn of phrase
Of course not all is perfect
Not every poem just flows
Not every word fits just right
But that's alright
When a poem's meant to be
It'll flow from me
Forced poetry still works
But doesn't shine, doesn't sparkle
Like dew on fresh green grass
Or when the sun hits just right
To form a perfect rainbow
Poetry has always been a part of me
The rhythm and rhyme create a melody
Just as delicious does not begin to describe
a juicy steak or perfectly aged wine,
Neither do words do justice to poetry
Poetry makes one believe
Poetry evokes emotions
That,
That is what is a part of me.
