Poets are liars but how can you trust me
No that's not a fall out boy song
Poets are liars and that includes you and me
We cloak our meanings with two sided words and concuted connotation
Crafted carefully to be thought provoking and tear soliciting
Confounding with the creative constructs of our minds
Distracting like magicians sentence structure our slight of hand
Surely poets are liars because what if
For just one second
When I say the curtains are blue
What I really mean is
The motherfucking curtains are blue
But you can't trust me because I'm a poet
And poets are liars
This poem is about:
Me
Our world
