Pretending

Philippians 2:12

Light Bearers

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only,

but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Driving home on simple facts

Going downhill but out of gas

Nothing but bumps and one flat

In hope that no one else will pass

The journey started out so well

Only a few cares and credit cards

To live it up as you can tell

A smooth skin with just some wards

Now infection has spread all over

Little like close to a depression

Nowhere to go to find some cover

Thrown in the pit of frustration

Who will now pay the price?

It won’t be me, I exist on credit

Pretending all is sugar and spice

Let someone else portray this

I’ll hang on for another day

Still in love with an illusion

Hoping that someone else will pay

the price of my chosen confusion
