Racism In Disguise

So, what makes a person not racist? Because a non black family adopted a black girl or boy, they can start dropping racist comments? Stop using that as a decoy.
"Don't worry, we are homies so this N word I am about to drop should not hurt. I known you for awhile, so as I drop this derogatory phrase just smile."
What is the matter with you all? I should take these hits and pretend it doesn't hurt at all?
Yes. The black jokes hurt. No. I don't want you comparing my skin color to the color of dirt. If you think this is humorous, it isn't funny, not one bit. When is this going to end? Because you have one black friend, the respect of their heritage and skin color comes to an end, too?
We have a lot in common. Breathe the same air, look at the same stars, and look at the same sky that is blue. So, why do you think you are better than me? I am expressing what I have been through, so I do not want your pity. I want you to listen, to understand. I want you to know that we are human even if we have different color hands. I want you to know that the heritage you are making fun of is very dear to me. The heritage you mock has sacrificed, bled, and died for me! And the skin color you make fun of has been resilient through history. I don't want an apology, I just want you to listen, to understand me.

This poem is about:
