Resting on Simple Wings

Spread your wings, little butterfly;

Head to the sunny sky.

Don't be afraid to take a chance,

Life will always be a dance.

I can understand you fears,

And even the few tears.

But look, and see your beauty,

So simple, it is crazy.

But, god, is it great to see.

Things are better when your a little insane,

Of course there will still be pain,

But non of it will be in vein.

So, simple sweet butterfly,

Are you willing to testify?

To face what holds you back,

And finally be able to relax?

You are never alone, that is true.

So many around just love you.

Graced with a smile to brighten each day,

They hear everything you say,

They want you to be okay.

They cheer you on through everything.

You, dear, resilent butterfly,

how they love to watch you strive,

And know you will survive.

So much strength, in such fragile wings,

but yet the reason for angels to sing.

You live each day as a gift,

and are your own lift.

Darling, you have gone through hell,

But you  lived with a story to tell.

Now, there is no time like the present,

to thank the angels, heaven-sent.

If only you saw what the world does,

you would see so much love.

Every drop is a masterpiece,

one, you just can't see.

But, hell, confidence is key.

So be ready to soar, perfect butterfly.

Send a smile as you flutter by.

Look in the mirror, what do you see?

Holy shit, how can that be?

I look in the mirror, guess what I see.

Guess, who is looking back at me.

A little, simple sweet, resilient, perfect, angel-like creature,

I can see such a future.

That ever glorious admired butterfly- is me.
