Rite of Passage

It's time to look back

To an unemployed year,

When life was off track

And things were unclear.

I was reactive and broke

My social life lacked,

The butt of a joke

My confidence cracked.

Now that I'm driven

And my goals are in sight

Progress is a given

If I do it all right.

Proactive and working

My future looks bright.

College plans perking

My spirits take flight

While scripting my fate

One thing's unsolved

Fears don't dissipate

They simply evolve.
