A Sad Man Writes a Peom

I embrace every word I write

Injecting them with my pain

Let it bleed through and disappear

But every letter brings me grief

Restoring things that shouldn’t be given a second thought

I dwell on these knowing exactly what they will do

I clutch it in my head and it feeds my thoughts

I embrace every word I write

Following it like a lost soul searching for the promise land

These words are my path

And every letter brings me one step closer

Fueling my hopes of relief

I’m close enough to touch it but not feel it

My pain relapse and I haven’t moved a step

So I embrace every word I write

Letting them fly freely

Exploring every inch of my canvas

I don’t hold back a single letter

But I realize that I must mask my words

If anyone knew that the sad man existed
