"Safe and Sound for now"

There once was shadows that nearly,

killed my light, I remember screaming ,

“never leave me here alone”

Curled up tight and tired from the fight,

I didn’t feel strong enough to keep going on.

I remember tears ran down my face,

when you promised to never let me go,

I remember you said “I wont let you fight alone”

But after tonight all that has died and left and gone.

I’m going to just close my eyes,

after I watch the sun go down,

I’ll pretend I’ll be alright, and nothing can hurt me now,

and at the morning light I’ll forever be safe and sound.

I’ll ignore the tears that now mare my face,

and how cold it is on my own,

I promised not to dare look out at the world,

all I’ll see is everything on fire,

the war outside will always keep raging on.

Just sing that old bitter sweet lullaby,

even now that all music is gone,

gone...

I'm just going to close my eyes,

the sun has gone down,

I'll be alright.

no one can hurt me now,

come morning light... I'll be safe and sound....

I can fee myself fade,

I must still keep up this shrade,

forget the world and the lies I was led t believe,

it will be all dead and gone after tonight.

I let the shadows take me this time,

no need to keep up this pointless fight,

Im tired of watching everything burn,

so I welcome my fate,

soon I'll be safe and sound.

I can feel my last breath draw in,

my end seems to not come too soon,

my body i weak I will just give in,

I see no more light,

my last lie filled lullaby.

Just close my eyes,

the sun has gone down,

I'm all right,

no one can hurt me now,

come morning light I will be safe and sound.
