Shades

Location

Within the eyes of the beholder, a dark past derives,

An everlasting burden, on the memory of her own,

The true essence of her being is slightly obscured,

Shadowing the life within.

But some light prevails,

As her fascade is cracked by the truth,

Her surface is rough,

And the being inside nothing better,

Constructed by the world,

Altered by reality,

Merely a piece of what it was before.

The pieces are broken, the memory is fading

Another story begins,

Unable to turn back, unable to correct the wrongs,

The future conceals the past,

A past to close an old chapter of a lifetime,

A future to begin anew.
