She lays there

She lays there hoping the day will grow bright

laying in the dark she’s almost afraid of the light that’s going to shine through the curtains soon

planning in her head how and why to get out of bed when there’s so much dread

She lays there building up the courage to leap to her feet

shower get dressed and put her face on pretty

this black and white thoughts are getting silly 

she doesn’t lay there anymore instead she walks right out her door
