Silence Says More Than You Ever Could

The air isn’t heavy with words

You can talk of the clouds in the sky

But what are you really saying

You are wasting my time

The right kind of company

The dazzling city streets

Growing louder with every heartbeat

Then silence

Silence is better

Than the “How are you’s”

You’d much rather say whatever

To pointless conversation

You are not the clatter

Of pots and pans

But the subtle spatter

Of paint on a blank canvas

Keeping calm and quiet

Like an autumn leaf in the wind

Feeling at your highest

Talking about your passions

The air with silence in between

The ones who truly know me
