Sing to Me

Sing to me, Mama, so that I may hear   My own sweet lullaby softly in my ear.  Sing to me, Mama, so that I may smell the file gumbo that you cook so well.  Sing to me, Mama, to remind my tongue  of a midnight movie and coca cola with rum.  Sing to me, Mama, and again I will see   Blue and white lights on a green christmas tree. Sing to me, Mama, and again I will feel   a tall scarlet shoe with a long skinny heel.   Sing to me, Mama, and I will sing too   And I'll think of the things that remind me of you
