Sinking Ship

I was born to battle,
To battle for my passions,
No matter the cost,
Even if it meant that I might be lost,
So when the ship began to sink,
Downward,
Sinking,
Downward,
Noticeably leaking
Leaking slightly,
Greatly to eyes that were open,
Eyes that reflect care,
Saw right then and there,
Something I simply couldn't bare,
I ignored the warnings,
I ignored the signs,
I ignored the whispers,
I ignored it all,
Higher,
Higher,
Higher,
Till suddenly it was only a matter of time,
The water would climb more,
Faster,
Quicker,
Faster,
It's too late,
Too late for this to end up great,
My fate lay as bait,
Not to the blame of my date,
For I alone am the failure in this game,
So my head shall hang in shame!
