Sleeping Devil
A fire,
brightly, beautifully, shining in the dark,
lighting up the empty night sky.
The fire,
a gently wavering flicker,
warming up the air.
The fire,
building, crackling
soaring up to the stars.
Burning, gripping, destroying
The heat washes over
The flames rise high, high to the night sky
And the wood burns, happily, hysterically
Obliterating everything in sight
This fire,
once a gentle light
now a devouring monster.
Eating, killing, full of joy.
A sleepy puppy
turned bloodthirst devil.
Taking, hording,
then never seen again.
