Something Existential

Notice this feeling? it's something dark, and deep in the air.

A Lust for hate that inspired years fear.

Existential in nature but who said it’s fair?

It’s growing again and at what cost?

See I’d love to rejoice like the end is near

But who knew I was running a race, that I’d already lost?

We feel crossed

As deadly sins pin us against each other,

WE watch them all die, our sister and a brother.

I’d pour of salt in the wound if I turn the other cheek.

But with my help the future doesn't seem so bleak

So I hung hopes on the tree, the same one my ancestors did.

Please don't turn a blind eye that's something I forbid

How much change have we really seen?

Because all lives matter seemed to be the vaccine

This year I've learned i'll be the change that's needed

For a nation still facing trials and tribulation

Yes! I’ll be the drought for what's seeded

So love can be love in every application

We are all running in the same race.

Granted in my future there will be no difference between a face.
