A Sonnet For The One I Love (Scholarship Slam)

~ A sonnet for the one I love ~

A heart is a balloon easily swayed;

Only the warmth of love can lift if up.

A gentle breeze can make it lose its way,

And cold weather can make it much too tough.

A heart constricted long enough shrivels,

Because it’s loved so much it cannot breathe.

Hearts ignored linger on the trivial;

A heart like yours means all the world to me.

But our hearts are so easily balanced;

Loving you is like my second nature.

Even our feet stepped in time as we went;

With this our feelings surely have matured.

The strongest hearts can fail through rougher times,

But the strength of love like ours never dies.

 As she walked inside tears filling up her eyes,

Her dad hugged her tightly saying his goodbyes.

He didn't know what would happen today,

but was hoping it would be better than the past few days.

It was time to head school and fear built up inside,

She didn't want to see the person who's hurting her inside.

Little did I know my friend

my Bestfriend

was being bullied.
