Standing tall

Here I am standing tall.

But the truth is I'm starting to fall.

I'm in this world to make a difference.

The world is in trouble I'm trying to fix this.

Why is it a crime to stand here defenseless?

I'm trying to fight for the right to win this.

Now is the time to change

So why resist this?

I have a vision

But I am blinded by the division.

I'm afraid that my life will end in a split decision.

I want to have faith but my mind's in a collision.

I have a dream but I need to envision.

There I am standing tall.

But the truth is I will not fall!

I am the creator of my dreams.

The world may be troubling

But it's better than it seems.

I will yell so all can hear.

The time has come and I won't fear.

Here I am standing tall.

This poem means alot to me. There is alot going on now and I want to make a difference. I am a current college freshmen, and I am going to school to make a difference in this world. I am majoring in Chinese and Communications, and I plan to travel around the world helping and encouraging youth. I want kids to believe in themselves regardless of their situations. That is my passion and I hope you enjoy a "glimpse of my heart" because to me that is what poems are.
