Stardust

Location

Have you ever really thought about You?

Of what you're really made of?

Of how beautiful you are?

Sure, the things you can see are beautiful, of course

Skin and hair and eyes

All the things that make us look different from each other

But there's so much more to it than that

Beauty comes from within

It's beautiful how smoothly bones glide along with every move you make

The tiny complex muscle movements required to move a pencil are amazing

The way your eyes capture light is gorgeous

The sound of a heartbeat is the most lovely music ever written

How can people be cruel to each other when inside we are so alike?

And there's more beyond that

This is all made from a collection of molecules

A bunch of particles got together in the right way and learned to work magic

It's amazing how smoothly they work

If you really think about it

A bunch of inanimate pieces came together to make each of these odd and wonderful things we call humans

And all the parts of those molecules

The atoms, the infinitesimal Legos that make our universe

All came from a long dead star

Every part of you is stardust

Incredible, remarkable stardust that can think

Stardust that  learns about the world and about itself

Stardust that makes art and music and amazing things

From stardust to molecules to muscles to you

And everyone else

Isn't it beautiful?
