The Story of the Sun and Moon

Life and death were once lovers

No limit between their love

But once the sky learned

Of the affair, he changed them

Life became the sun that shone

Shone on the living while,

Death became the moon,

Whose light encouraged the dead,

Sky kept them separate

One went up as the other

Became nothing, one final

Look to each other with

A fight in their eyes

Death toss and turned

His darkness became insanity

Life’s light became too bright

Sky couldn’t let go

Death’s insanity fought

And sky couldn’t stop

Now life’s light shines

On Death every day

While death’s darkness stayed without

Life’s light, their love

Prevailed and once again

They are together without

Sky’s hate.
