A stranger in the mirror

Mon, 05/20/2019 - 23:06 -- Cassims

I look and I see a reflection starring back at me
I know who she is but can't see who's with in
Scared and alone oh I can see the fear
A lack of confidence but she can attack
A stranger in the mirror I've grown to fear
I've stop looking because I couldn't face my fears.
That was me at age 13
I know who she is and I know can obtain her.
Because instead of looking at two different perspectives we've grown as one.
I've shaped her into a kind hearted soul but with a powerful mind.
I've taught her to face her fears and fight for what she believed in.
I taught her that her mothers mistakes wouldn't have a affect on her would nor would she make the same.
Instead this "stranger" is an educated woman with a creative side.
Because I never gave up on her
My love for her would never leave.
Her body never changed but her mind and soul did
Because that stranger in the mirror is me
I am Cassandra Sanchez a 17 year old girl with a beautiful humble soul.
That stranger is no longer there because when I look in the mirror I see me.
And I know I will succeed
