A Summer Evening

A car light shines in the distance

Slowly illuminating the gravel beneath my feet.

My sister films my walk up the street.

Mom calls to us.

She takes a picture.

A mother proud of her children.

A feeling of warmth and love surrounds me

Encompassing me like a hug.

The stars shine brightly

As rain slowly begins to fall.

A summer evening,

A perfect evening.
