That's My
When you were born
She covered you with bows
Stayed up all night with you while you cried
And doused you with her kisses
You would never let her go. That’s my Nurture.
When you were a toddler
She got your cloths ready for school
Cooked a healthy breakfast
And told you that you can be anything you wanted to be and sent you off to school
You never got treated like a big girl but that’s my motivator
When you became a teenager
She attended every cheer competition and recital there was
Helped you study for that huge math test
And helped you with every college application there was
You told her you can handle it but that’s your main support
When you were growing into a young adult
She made sure all her morals were imprinted in you
Taught you how a lady is suppose to act
And told you that you were special and you didn’t need a boy to tell you so
You didn’t understand completely but that’s your backbone
Now you’re an adult
Doing things on your own
She tries to find ways to still be that nurture, motivator, and that huge supporter
Yet you still try to impress her and say I got this
In the end you didn’t. Those pumps aren’t easy to walk in
When fell flat on your butt, she helped you up
Dusted you off and gave you some wedges
You thought she was just trying to baby you but you know she will never steer you wrong
You looked at her and smiled. That’s my mama
