There Will Be Light

In the ten years that I have lived here,

I have been judged, discriminated, and hated.

I have been crushed, hurt, and segregated

I tried and gave the best I could,

To fit in, to belong, which I never thought I would.

Those times where I felt the loneliness, sadness, and hopelessness..

I fought through and through to reach a goal that ends in happiness.

I learned to adapt, to change, and to blend.

I became strong, and someone that wouldn't bend.

Throughout these years that I have been here,

There will always be judgment and hatred,

but I will never have fear

I believe that will change, may it be belated.
