Those Days, Oh Those Days

If you were to look up any of the words

Clumsy,

Awkward,

Embarrassing,

There you would find my photo, no description

needed. But look further for

Steadfast,

Loving,

Compassionate,

and there I would be also.

Oh, my God, my God

who has blessed me with these strengths.

Many days, weakness begs

to be seen. Anger shows its ugly head.

Fear creeps along behind, Self doubt leads the heard of misfits.

Those days, oh those days,

how I longed for those days to cease.

But those days, oh those days,

how I have grown so from those days.

Steadfastness,

Love,

Compassion, are not inbred,

rather ingrained by difficulty.

Those days, oh those days,

Those days seemed to never end.

Hopeless abyss laid out in front of my eyes

But those days, oh those days,

how I am now thankful for those days.

For without those days of dark, I fear

I would not now shine as bright.
