Time Flies Within a Blink of an Eye

I remember the laughs I shared.

The smiles and successes we made

but then I realize that what is left

is all a memory.

People start to drift like the waves.

They come and go.

Without even realizing it

not everyone stays together.

You meet new people.

A new environment.

You begin to walk a different path.

You wish to stay and never change.

Yet you cannot forget the fact

you can only keep memories.

I wished classes could go by quicker than a second.

But it wasn't the classes that went by,

it was time.

I take a look back and ask myself

"Are you still the same person you were then?"

Yes.

"Do you still have the same circle of friends?"

No.

As time flies you begin to notice just how much a memory from a year ago

relfects to yesterday.

The stressful cries coming into class because

I didn't study for the quiz

 I wasn't the only one.

Jumping from one group of friends to the next

Just being myself.

Now that a year passes,

I wish to dive back into those memories

Because doesn't eveyone from time to time

Have a good laugh about the past year?
