Trapped

Alone,
Left with the thoughts,
Anger builds.

I hide,
Hide behind this mask I've built.
They tell you smile,
What does that mean anymore,
You smile,
They forget.

Trapped,
The thoughts build.
You cry,
Alone,
Together,
You smile.
What else can you do.

Smile,
Like nothings wrong.
Listen to their problems,
Think of yours.

Alone,
No one cares,
They say they do.

Trapped,
You know they can’t help.
They say sorry,
You’re alone.
The mask,
You smile,
You laugh,
But inside you’re broken.

Your broken because of yourself.

Smile, that’s just a word now.
When you smile it hurts.

In your room.
Alone,
Tears rush out.
You can't stop.
You think of the people,
"Who care"
But do they.
They don't know the pain.
The mask,
It makes people happy,           But it can't make you happy.
They tell you,
"It gets better"
But when.
It hurts to much.

Alone.
A hand reaches out,
Someone's there.
They understand.
They look past the mask.
They see tears and your true self,
They lift you up.

Alone,
what does that mean anymore.
You smile,
The pains gone.

Trapped,
Never again.

The mask,
It’s gone.
