The Truth

Location

The truth is hard to swallow; resting on the tip of my tongue.

It aches to be accepted and it longs to be loved.

The truth is hard to find and hard to see for what it is;

the difficulty stemming from the root of selfishness.

If I was honest, then I'd admit it-

I wish the truth was prettier.

I wish the truth was smaller.

I wish the truth was slimmer.

I wish the truth was everything

I've always wished to be;

but finally I'll have to see

the honest truth

is me.
