Twice Broken and Bruised

I forgave your intrusion and your betrayal

I loved you through the hardships of my life

When I needed you, you weren’t there for me

When I needed a friend, you were gone

I thought you were and would always be

My very best and most loyal friend

But it was like a wave crashing over me

When I found out how much you didn’t care

You lost my respect and you lost my trust

You broke my heart and bruised my soul

Not once am I injured because of you

But now I’m crippled because you did it again

Cause me pain once then shame on you

You hurt me twice still shame on you

Trust is a bridge built over time

A crossing of dimension between people

If you know that I am struggling then help me

If you know that I am lying then confront me

Don’t hide behind a lie because you’re jealous

Don’t place blame on the person not guilty

I never did anything to deserve this from you

Are you angry that I might be better at something?

Was is that you couldn’t stand 2nd place

Or was it selfishness that drove you mad

I’m so tired of your games and insults

So done with your friendship façade

I won’t ever give you another chance

You’ve lost me and my friendship

I hope that it was worth it

That it makes you feel good about yourself

Because our friendship has been erased

It no longer exists, I don’t think it ever did

So have fun with your lies and your schemes

I have made my share of mistakes

And my enemy so have you

But this time your lies won’t work

Don’t think that for even a second you’ll win

That you’ll somehow tarnish my reputation

Further than you already have beyond any form of repair

Because you’re wrong about me and your facts don’t add up

How can you say you know me when you don’t?

I love more than you ever have and will

I have more character in my little finger

More than you have in your entire body

I’m not prideful but I am so angry

I may not be able to forgive you for awhile

Giving forgiveness to someone is never easy

Especially when they don’t seem to deserve it

So as we have parted ways and no longer speak

I share this poem in hopes that you figure it out

That you learn how to be a true friend

To look out for someone that you call friend

Twice now you have destroyed my life

Twice now you have bruised my reputation

It may take a lot of work but this is what I know

God wiped clean my slate and I’m forever new
