The Two-Sided Mirror

I am in a empty room,
The one you have put me in,
Only to look at the two-sided mirror.
You look at me through the two-sided mirror,
As if I'm a caged animal,
You look as if you have summed me up,
But you have only seen the side of me of which you created.
You turned a sweet young woman,
Into a self-loathing little girl.
I sit in this abandoned room thinking of the past.
Having tears in my eyes and all I could do was question,
"What did I do wrong?"
Though that girl is a thing of the past.
The girl you see before you is different,
She has more confidence and dignity than you ever allowed her to have.
I see you through the two-sided mirror,
And I look at you with a optimistic smile.
For I know that one day you will be on the other side of the two-sided mirror.
