Unconnected

They call it connected generation
They say we are together, but we're not
The world is filled with anticipation
We need to focus less on what we've bought
Instead let's look at something that is true
A friendship like no other that is real
But never can we love something not new
We wish there was a way to start to feel
I ask, apart or face to face are we?
We don't see eye to eye, but screen to screen
Much could we do if we just tried to see
Say love, you do, but don't know what it means
So maybe lives like ours are ejected
We're the generation unconnected
This poem is about:
Our world
