there was matter and forces

which made galaxies the solar system and the earth 

things happened, many things, too many things to be of human understanding 

life arose, was naturally interconnected and life became more and more complex; evolution

intricate and complex machinery of nature

guided one animal into a curious and subtle state of awareness 

an animal aware of being a part of this universe, made of this universe

that looked up and knew of space and laws as well as time 

now the universe had created a way for it to know itself
